“Fruit Tree Jungle”

On a hill overlooking a crocodile flanked river lives a musical fruit tree jungle hut

To get there you must travel past fields where sugar canes, banana trees and coconut palms touch the sky, competing for space with an ever hungry pig filled jungle

Tree skeletons protrude brokenly from caked mud which licks at my feet sometimes swallowing my entire leg

Night is an active time in the jungle and you can hear many sounds from the different animals that inhabit this world

One sound is the gentle hum of insects and frogs

This is a gentle rhythmic sound that, once you become accustomed to it can be as soothing as the sounds of the sea

Then there are the less soothing sounds

Sometimes I have woken in fright to the disturbing wail of the ground dwelling curlew as it sits on its eggs

Sometimes piggy has been known the steal their eggs during their nightly food raids

Then sometimes the tables are turned and you can hear the shrill squeal of a piggy which heralds a three day feast for the crocodiles, who can sometimes be heard barking on the banks of the river of an evening

Then there are the beauties of this paradise

We feast like kings on exotic tropical fruits and coconuts

Living a simple life away from the conveniences of the modern world

Like human crocs we bath in the river and then sun ourselves on the banks of the river

Some days we plant fruit trees or dig up weeds

Or we do yoga or art together

We are the dreamers trying to create visions of a fruit tree jungle paradise

By night we eat food together and make beautiful collaborative music

Then we sleep in tents or on the open deck under the gentle eyes of the moon

I have traveled around the world and seen many beautiful places

But there will always be a part of my heart that lives in this one moment, with this rainbow bubble in the fruit tree jungle dream I once lived as a reality
